The history of printers began way back in 1938, the term Xerox was coined. However, given they were some of the first printers, speed wasn’t their strong suit. The first high-speed printer Remington-Rand came over 20 years later. With that in mind, over the past few decades, the world of printers has developed at an alarming rate. With wonderful new additions, we have even moved from two dimensional monochrome and coloured printing all the way up to 3D printing. With technology rapidly progressing and newer printing technologies coming to fore, we have moved on from printing for school projects to much more serious applications like construction, engineering and even medical. Today, we look at some of the most extreme printers which also happen to be the most expensive printers in the world.

Using a process called binder jetting, unlike other types of printers, this printer allows the user to experience geometrical freedom in their work. This printer makes use of a liquid binding agent that joins the particles of a powdered substance. Furthermore, D-Shape 3D printer made headlines when a person, supposedly 3D printed their house with the use of this printer.
