The Office Jester… every office needs one to deliver stand up PowerPoint comedy just when the boss is presenting
So, this is the third time we’re going to be talking about PowerPoint presentations in Office Jester and we absolutely promise that it will be the last time. This series is proving to be like real world PowerPoint presentations – it is just not ending. Seeing how many funny videos we’ve manage to come up with, there must be a lot of people out there who hate PowerPoint presentations.
You know how they say that grief is necessary for creativity. Well, PowerPoint presentations must’ve made a lot of people unhappy because they’ve been very creative in how they’ve trashed the idea. The first video we did was on annoying presentation habits and it revolved around an “Inside Out” type theme where people say what they’re thinking out loud. The second one was actually a rap song about PowerPoint presentations gone wrong. This one is stand up PowerPoint comedy.
Three different types of renditions of the same problem – bad PowerPoint presentations. That has to show you two things. People all over the world hate PowerPoint presentations and that they hate them enough to be creative about it. Here’s the video.
Stand Up PowerPoint Comedy
A lot of what this guy says in his stand up PowerPoint comedy has already been mentioned in our earlier Office Jester posts and videos. Despite the fact that we’ve seen the same things being focused upon earlier, this stand up PowerPoint comedy approaches them differently which makes them funny all over again.
First and foremost, though, please note that Don McMillan begins by saying “I figure its kind of my doodie to point them out”. Doodie. Doodie. Doodie. Once you’ve laughed at that heartily, you can move on to the mistaks this guy emphasises in his stand up PowerPoint comedy. He focuses on putting words on slides and reciting them to spell cheeks.
One new PowerPoint mistake he brings into play is excessive bullet pointing. I like how he says that the term bullet point is a result of people firing guns at annoying presenters. Another new angle that he’s taken is bad colour schemes. We like the loss of bladder control reference. It’s quite true you know. Have you ever seen someone wearing fluorescent colours? It’s like a flash bang in the brain. We believe they should use such colours during riots. It’s the most peaceful way of bringing miscreants under control.
There is an underlying theme in this stand up PowerPoint comedy. First, McMillan talks about his “doodie”. Then he speaks about “loss of bladder control”. And, finally he refers to “pointless motion”. Do you see the theme? Is there any motion that is pointless motion? Unless of course you talk about baboons using their poop as projectiles. This would be another way that angry crowds can be brought under control. Toss everyone’s doodie on them. Yee haw!
In the end, we’d like to ask for a minute’s silence for all those people who use Times New Roman. We agree with this stand up PowerPoint comedy that all those who use Times New Roman are lazy, apathetic, and unimaginative. Personally speaking, I’m an Arial man. As much because I like System of a Down as the fact that Arial is the cleanest font out there with minimal edges.
